Always Growing

One thing that is important to me is to always be learning and growing. Over the last couple of years—out of necessity—I've been really focused on improving my body. I suffered a herniated disk back in 2020 or 2021 and have had a tough, pain filled road back to function. During that time, and to some degree still, doing hours of mosaic work was challenging, if not impossible. There were times I couldn't work. So I needed to focus on restoring my body, and mosaic work and business stuff took a back seat. But my efforts have proven fruitful, and I'm now relatively pain free, and far more functional.

As such, time and energy has been freed up for new projects, and new growth. I'm focusing now on improving my marketing, bringing new mosaics into the world (jewelry and others), and brainstorming new classes and new ways of making learning from me possible. One thing I've started learning is how to take and edit video—long overdue—and have been recently using my infant skills to create process videos of my work. I'm filming behind the scenes clips, short tutorials and more. The piece above was the feature of a recent series of reels, so if you like, you can watch it being made!

If you are interested in that sort of content—seeing how I make things, learning about the processes behind my work, heck, even an occasional feature about my life on Santorini—feel free to follow me on Facebook or Instagram if you don't already! At this stage I'm not thinking to add these videos to my blog or newsletter, though that may change down the line, so social media is the only place to see those.

And....I'll be announcing dates for my Santorini workshop in the next week or so, so stay tuned for that!

P.S. The jewelry base used on this one is from a new batch of the custom sterling silver bases that Bohemian Element and I partner on. We decided to get in some wee bases for more delicate work, and I think they turned out so elegantly! So if you are a maker yourself, you might want to take a look.
