My favourite bar in the world closed last night, quite possibly forever. Atlas was more than a bar. It changed my life. Atlas was where I first met people who were living different sorts of lives, who had left their homes to roam, who believed that life wasn't meant to be lived in one place. I met people who gave me the courage to change my life, to forge a new path. I have laughed, danced, cried, sang, been yelled at, made new friends, fallen in love, fallen out of love, and drank more beers than is wise at that bar. It was home.

Dave, a fellow Canadian, was the barman. Probably the best barman I've ever known. He's been my enabler, my wingman, and an incredible DJ. I feel lucky to also call him a friend. When Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip died, he played half an album of the Hip for me, despite disliking them. Magically, he played the exact songs I needed to hear, while I bawled my eyes out. It meant the world to me. Dave-O...thank you for everything, from the bottom of my heart.

And thank you to all who came out last night to create the most epic party ever, especially Kostas, who saved the night with an emergency keg of beer.
