I've been teaching mosaic for something like 19 years now. I know that there are some people in the mosaic and art world who teach because it provides extra income, but they'd actually rather be in the studio. That thought has never actually crossed my mind; I knew immediately upon taking up mosaic that if I ever made it my livelihood, teaching would be a major part of it. See, I love to teach. I love to share my knowledge. I love witnessing the "Aha!" moments that students have and share in their joy. If I ever won the lottery and no longer needed to teach to pay the bills, I'd probably still offer workshops on occasion.
