"Portrait Practice #1" - SOLD
One thing I love about this project is how I get the chance to practice for other pieces in a non committal kind of way. I've only ever done one portrait, and though successful, it was in black and white, which made life a touch easier, as I only had to work on tone and not concern myself with color. Though I'm not entirely thrilled with this piece, as I think the eye could use a little more life, and maybe not so much white around the pupil, all in all I think it was an alright attempt for a first try at a color portrait.
Having said that, I should mention that this is of no one, but just a vision in my head. Now to try actual people.
