HOW TO HOST A MOSAICA DAY DINNER
GUEST LIST……………
In the spirit of the Holiday you may
wish to include a newcomer to the neighborhood, a college student far from
home, or a guest from a nursing home.
MENU…………….Have
a potluck dinner where everyone brings
a dish from their culture. It still needs to be coordinated by the
host. You don’t want to end up with seven international desserts
for dinner (or maybe you do). The other way to go is to be creative
and prepare some fusion dishes such as Meximatzobrie (matzo
brie with salsa and guacamole). We hope to have Mosaica Day recipes available.
MUSIC…Everyone
can bring a music CD that represents traditional music from their culture.
Or bring a world music CD. Encourage your guests to bring a musical instrument.
FLOWERS …Optional,
for decorative purposes only.
SING
THE MOSAICA SONG…. (Looking for talented volunteers
to write one) This will be a Holiday song we can all
sing together and nobody will mind.
DANCE…It’s
okay if the music makes your feet move, go with it
and I promise it will also warm your soul. It may not look like it but everyone
will be dancing to the same beat.
DRESS…Casual,
but it would be fun and colorful to dress in
your culture’s traditional clothing.
DOCUMENT…We
would love to hear from you after your
Mosaica Day Dinner in order to share your experiences and
ideas with others. We would also welcome suggestions for future dinners.
